Canada won the toss and chose to bat . They started up well adding 41 runs for the first wicket in just 3.5 overs. H Patel was the top scorer with 54 runs from 45 ball which included 5 fours and 3 sixes. Z sukari and captain A Bagai also added good contribution of 34 and 39 respectively. Canada was all out on 212. Brett lee picked up four wickets , Tait and kretja shared 2 each.
In reply to Canada's modus total Australian openers added 183 for the first wicket. Haddin (88 runs) and watson (94 runs) missed the opportunity to score a century. Ponting was the other wicket to fall and Australia reached target of 212 in 35th over.
